I think what is least developed at aorpirts in terms of entertainment is social entertainment. Most of the current solutions is targeted for individual enjoyment and there are all sorts and shapes out there already (like free wifi/pc, massage chair/spa, artgallery, etc), but not much actually entertains crowds or brings people together in a social way. In Prague, just to illustrate a simple example, there was a football table in the middle of one of the departure halls. As soon as flight delay was announced, me and my friends jumped at it and played a few games and had so much fun with it that other passengers came around to watch the match and eventually we ended up taking turns and playing with total strangers, creating a simple form of bonding. But most remarkable was that none of us were bothered by the delay in any way, not just us but also the people around watching. It managed to turn the disappointing atmosphere into an enjoyable and entertaining time for everyone around. And once we did board, that disconnected feeling you usually have with fellow passengers turned into a much warmer closer feeling which also made the flight more enjoyable and social. This kind of entertainment is definitely worth looking into more depth.
